We recieved new tennis raquets and tennis balls for a wedding present and so the day after Thanksgiving we pulled them out, tore off the plastic, and set out on an interesting evening. I love my husband and I am so grateful that neither of us have reservations about trying something we don't know how to do.
My mission president's wife, Sister Lindley, taught me and my companion how to play tennis one preparation day. I didn't think I would do very well, but to my surprise I won the game against her and she is a darn good player! ha ha! So I thought for sure that was beginners luck and I was going to loose to Rick. Well... turns out my husband has a worse aim than I do... so.... I WON! (by default! ha ha)
The best part is after the game, I told Rick I was going to do some lunges and he said, "that is sissy girl stuff." So I challenged him to do lunges with me across the court and back. He did great until the end and he was really struggling. I just laughed and thought "Sissy girl stuff huh? Now whos talking?" I should mention though, that we were BOTH sooooooo sore for 3 days following. Looks like I am a "sissy girl" and not as in shape as I used to be!
Fun times!!!
I wanna learn! Not yet, but in the spring. Tennis seems like a cool chick sport to me (or a cool guys sport but, hey, I'm a chick). So are you guys going to teach me? Get better by then, okay? LOL.
