HAPPY EASTER!!
This weekend was such a good weekend. My cousin got married and it was an all day party, I conquered my fear of claustrophobia and went to Nutty Putty Caves, and... it was EASTER! Rick and I got each other "Easter baskets." The one I gave him wasn't really a basket though, I put his goodies, including the plaid shirt he is wearing below, in a red plastic fireman hat. He dreams of being a fireman one day and I thought that would be appropriate!
He, however, surprised me with a beautiful fruit basket that he put together himself. He knows I love fruit and I am moving away from lots of sweets so he put time and effort into that! It was so sweet and beautiful!
I just wanted to share an experience I had yesterday on Easter. I really loved the talk by the Primary President on the Saturday a.m. session of General Conference last weekend when she talked about teaching little children. She listed a few things we can do to help our little children learn. I teach the 4 year old Sunbeam class in primary and I have felt the past few months that I am just not doing the best job at my calling. My team teacher recently got released and I looked to her every Sunday to learn how to teach better since she has a gift for it. Well, I prepared myself as the talk in conference directed and I just felt peace and knew that it was going to be a good lesson. The topic was the resurrection of the Savior of course! Anyway, long story short, I taught the lesson and had a few activities and at the end of the day the new teacher that came for the the first time yesterday turned to me and said, "Your teaching is so cute and perfect for these little ones." I about fell out of my chair because that is almost word for word what I had said to my previous team teacher and hoped that I could be like her someday! I was so happy to have felt the Spirit as I taught those little girls. Just a bonus - at the end of the lesson I threw a ball to each of them and when they caught it I would ask them a question about the lesson. Every question was answered correctly without hesitation. These little ones truly DO listen!
Easter Sunday was one of the most spiritual Sundays for me in a long long time. I feel so renewed and grateful for my Savior's sacrifice for me and for everyone. I know he LIVES and loves me!

It's SO fun teaching the little ones! They're so stinking cute.
ReplyDeleteBTW, I saw the pictures of you at the caves. I did the birth canal - never again. Oooh, it was so squishy. Eeek!
That's my kind of easter basket (the fruit, not the fireman, lol). How sweet!
