War Wounds

Sometimes I find working outside, doing gardening, and other yard work very satisfying. It leaves me feeling like I have accomplished something and that I made a difference. That is something that we have not had much opportunity for since being married since we have lived in apartments. Well, for Father's Day we decided to help our fathers with some yard work. Rick's parents and my parents have totally different yards. My parents have an easy yard with lots of pots and flower beds and Rick's parent live in a house that has gorgeous pine trees and mountain plants that grow all over.
Yesterday we worked in Rick's parents yard and it was some major work. The boys cut up trees and made firewood and burned the excess while Debbie and I did some grass pulling, bush trimming, and even some rose bush extracting. I had fun working in the rain and seeing a big difference from when we started to when we finished. It was different work than I was used to, but fun none the less. I even came out with some war wounds to show my glory! I showed Rick my cuts about 4X's yesterday just so he would be proud of my hard work!
I know you can't see it very well in this picture, but I have about 10 cuts from the rose bush. I had washed some blood off by the time I took this picture. My other arm wasn't as bad, but I loved showing it off! I feel tough. ha ha
