What more can he give me?

I feel overwhelmed with gratitude to my Father in Heaven. He has given me everything I have ever needed and most of what I have wanted. ;) This morning I was thinking of all the things that He has blessed me with...
  • FIRST and FOREMOST: My amazing husband. Rick is always there for me to talk to, or lean on when I need anything. He is my best friend. I love to hang out with him and go shopping with him and even just sit there watching a movie with him. We always have fun and love being around each other. This last week he has even rubbed my feet twice!! He treats me like a princess and he is such a wonderful man.
  • Second, my family. I am constantly surrounded by people that love and care for me. Last night my brother came over for dinner and we had so much fun just talking and catching up!! He has always been there to help and take care of me just as all my sisters and parents have been.
  • Third, my job and my education. I look back at the times when I felt like I would never have enough money to finish school, or when it was just too far away for me to feel like I would ever finish my classes, and now that I am done I am just so grateful for all the doors that opened to me to help me finish my schooling. My job is wonderful. I work for the Lord's Kingdom! My work enviornment is uplifting, happy, and encouraging. I am often given new opportunities to expand my skills and gain new experiences.
  • Fourth, my friends. I have at least 10 wonderful girlfriends that support me and hang out with me whenever I need company or just to have a good time. They all have great standards and we have so much fun together.
  • Fifth, our apartment and finances. We have been so blessed to not be strapped for money and to have wonderful places to live that have been steals! I have a clean and orderly home and enough money to keep our fridge stocked and keep us happy.
I am surrounded by everything that God has given me, all I have to do is open my eyes to see it in the proper light and I am reminded again and again of my indebtedness to Him.

War Wounds

Sometimes I find working outside, doing gardening, and other yard work very satisfying. It leaves me feeling like I have accomplished something and that I made a difference. That is something that we have not had much opportunity for since being married since we have lived in apartments. Well, for Father's Day we decided to help our fathers with some yard work. Rick's parents and my parents have totally different yards. My parents have an easy yard with lots of pots and flower beds and Rick's parent live in a house that has gorgeous pine trees and mountain plants that grow all over.
Yesterday we worked in Rick's parents yard and it was some major work. The boys cut up trees and made firewood and burned the excess while Debbie and I did some grass pulling, bush trimming, and even some rose bush extracting. I had fun working in the rain and seeing a big difference from when we started to when we finished. It was different work than I was used to, but fun none the less. I even came out with some war wounds to show my glory! I showed Rick my cuts about 4X's yesterday just so he would be proud of my hard work!
I know you can't see it very well in this picture, but I have about 10 cuts from the rose bush. I had washed some blood off by the time I took this picture. My other arm wasn't as bad, but I loved showing it off! I feel tough. ha ha

California!!

Rick and I went to California a couple weeks ago and had so much fun. We drove to L.A. and met up with one of Rick's old companions (Austin and his wife, Chelsie) and had a blast in Disneyland, on the beach, in Hollywood, etc. We all got lots of sun and enjoyed making memories.

We had so much fun renting beach cruisers and riding around together

I wanted to write a message to Rick in the sand and did so just in time; right as this picture was taken a wave washed up and wiped out my message!

Hollywood

We rode a Ferris Wheel with the other couple at Santa Monica Pier. It was such a beautiful night.
Yeah for Disneyland!
We decided our favorite ride was Space Mountain, this is us in line.

After all the fun, we stopped in Vegas on the way home for a yummy Vegas buffet where I ate my first crab leg. Yuck!

Am I the next Martha Stewart?

NO WAY!! But, I did make an amazing diaper cake for my sister's baby shower. I was very proud of myself for pulling it off so nicely. Rick helped me put the teirs together for FHE one night. He is such a domestic man! Just kidding.

A couple weeks ago we were making food assignments for Cath's baby shower which was last Saturday. I was thinking of what I could bring for food and was thinking about a cake and then a diaper cake came into my mind. Now granted, its not edable, but I was so excited to make one. I am always nervous to be crafty because it seems to run in my family but I question if I was adopted since I am laking in the crafty department. Well, I got the courage to do the cake and it was wonderful. Everyone seemed to like it and I am thinking that there will be more diaper cakes in my future seeing as I have found something I can actually do. Now I am just waiting for my sister Deborah to show me up and make a cuter one. haha

The ducky on top is holding and "L" for Cath's baby: Landon
