The Heartbeat!!!

Yesterday I had my second appointment for my pregnancy. I wasn't sure what was supposed to happen at the second appointment since we already had a full-on ultrasound for my first appointment. I was told it would be a quick weigh-measure-chat-appointment, but when the doctor came in and said, "okay lay back let's get a heartbeat" I was so sad that Rick wasn't there. The doctor proceeded to rub around my stomach to find the heartbeat and found it loud and clear. I was able to get Rick on the phone while he was working and he heard it that way. We were so excited to have confirmation that IT'S ALIVE!!! :)

I have been feeling much better lately now that I am in the second trimester. I have only gained 1 pound during all this and I hope to keep myself healthy and down to the minimum weight gain. The doctor said I am healthy and all tests came back showing I am in great condition! That was so nice to hear.

In 4 weeks we have another ultrasound to see what the gender is. Although the doctor says that it will be an "unofficial gender screening," he tends to be right about 95% of the time. I'm thinking that is a pretty good average he has going. I love my doctor. He is quick and easy and very caring. The facility is so nice and they work with me so well. I am happy that I am going to Lake View!

I don't have a picture that relates to this post, but I do have a picture we took at work today. It's a long story as to why I have this kind of a picture at work, but just trust me... it was all for the sake of a co-worker. I look really deformed because it was taken while I was in the air jumping. My dress makes me look really odd shaped!

Sorry you can see my knee highs... ha ha... I'm a total grandma!
