Marriage bliss

We've been married for over 2 months now. I never thought that I would feel so close to someone like I do to Rick. My sweet husband is such a loving, compassionate, understanding man. I am so grateful that Heavenly Father blessed me with someone like him.

Married life has been busy thus far. We have finished Fall semester of school, had a two week honeymoon to Sun Valley Idaho over the holidays, I got a new job, we started a new semester in school, we have recieved callings in our new ward (I am the primary teacher for the 4 & 5 year old and Rick teaches the youth sunday school class), and the list goes on. We spoke in church on Sunday and My parent's and great aunt came, Andrew my brother, and Rick's parents. They were supportive and we even had them over to our apartment afterward for dinner! It was great. It is finally hitting me that I am grown up! Speaking in church with my husband and making dinner for family that was coming over after was enough for me to realize I am no longer the little girl that never had much responsibility.

I was at my parent's house the other day to do laundry and no one was home. I layed on the couch like old times and listened to the clock ticking. It was weird the emotion that came over me. I missed "home" so badly. But then I immediately realized that my "home" was no longer there. It is now wherever Rick is. That made me smile so big I could hardly open my eyes! I am so happy to have moved on to this part of my life and to begin this journey with such an amazing man!

I love my Father in Heaven for knowing and understanding my needs and giving me the most precious gift, and eternal marriage. I know that as Rick and I continue to do what we know is right then we will always find happiness amid the tough times.

Our lame attempt at tennis!

We recieved new tennis raquets and tennis balls for a wedding present and so the day after Thanksgiving we pulled them out, tore off the plastic, and set out on an interesting evening. I love my husband and I am so grateful that neither of us have reservations about trying something we don't know how to do.

My mission president's wife, Sister Lindley, taught me and my companion how to play tennis one preparation day. I didn't think I would do very well, but to my surprise I won the game against her and she is a darn good player! ha ha! So I thought for sure that was beginners luck and I was going to loose to Rick. Well... turns out my husband has a worse aim than I do... so.... I WON! (by default! ha ha)

The best part is after the game, I told Rick I was going to do some lunges and he said, "that is sissy girl stuff." So I challenged him to do lunges with me across the court and back. He did great until the end and he was really struggling. I just laughed and thought "Sissy girl stuff huh? Now whos talking?" I should mention though, that we were BOTH sooooooo sore for 3 days following. Looks like I am a "sissy girl" and not as in shape as I used to be!

Fun times!!!

I am married to Superman!

My husband is so patient with me. I have been thinking today about how rediculous I can be regarding the little things. You see... I am O.C.D. about everything. I never like clothes on the floor, I like the bed to be made and orderly before I can sleep in it, I feel overwhelmed if there is more than a few dishes in the sink. Wow... I must be so hard to live with!

But! This is the amazing thing! After all of this, my husband still kisses my forehead and tells me that our marriage is a dream come true for him. I just melt in his arms and thank my Heavenly Father who gave me such a patient, understanding, and sensitive man to be my eternal companion.
I pray to be more patient and understanding like the man that took me as his wife! What an amazing blessing it is to be married to SUPERMAN! (the picture is from halloween. I was a leapord and he was superman!)

Wrestling match!

So Rick and I couldn't decide what to do with ourselves Sunday after church. We tried to take a nap, but I was restless. We made some lunch. Then we just started laughing and chasing each other around the apartment. Rick was trying to show me how strong he was and was getting me in some pretty good wrestling holds, but I fight like a cat! I was pushing and wiggling and successfully got out of quite a few holds! We were so worn out afterwards that we were literally laying on our living room floor panting!

What a fun Sunday activity! ha ha

THE PERFECT WEDDING!!

Rick and I were married for time and all eternity last Friday at 10am in the Bountiful Utah Temple! What an amazing day. We started the day off by reading our scriptures together and having our first "family prayer" and then driving to the temple. The day went by so quickly it seems unreal at times, but we made sure to soak up every moment and we even sat down a couple days ago and wrote down everything that we remember from that day.
Everyone was there (we missed a couple people at the sealing including a mission president, a cousin, and a couple close friends) and the Spirit was so strong.

This is just a snap shot that my friend took with her camera, I will put up better pictures once I get them from the photographer
A few of the highlights are:
-The sealing in the temple OF COURSE! Our families were all there and when we were pronounced husband and wife I started bawling! Rick wasn't far behind... he shed a few "manly" tears! hee hee

-The luncheon was great! The food was yummy (A big thanks to Bob and Debbie Brunson for all their hard work and preparation). The fathers (Bill and Bob), the Best Man (Mike Brunson), and Matron of Honor (Mitzi Robinson) made toasts that moved us to tears and also had us laughing! My favorite part of the luncheon was at the very beginning when Rick and I arrived at the luncheon, just before entering the room, Mike (the Best Man) announced the arrival of "Mr. and Mrs. Rick Brunson!" and everyone cheered as we walked into the room. That has been my dream since I was little!

-At my parent's house before the reception everyone was over and getting ready. It was a classic scene of people in nylons, skirts, and dress shirts rushing to get ready. I had some time to laugh with my bridesmaids as we got ready and the photographer was there documenting all the chaos! yeah!

-The reception: When planning the reception Rick and I didn't want a formal receiving line. We wanted to mingle and party with everyone. I will admit I was nervous that we would miss people and there would be too much going on, but to my suprise everything was perfect. We had pancakes for refreshments (Apple cinnamon, chocolate chip, and regular with all kinds of toppings) and the decorations were beautiful. Everyone LOVED the pancakes! Our colors were Gold, Champaign, and white so it was very elegant and classy and the lighting was perfect. We cut the cake earlier than usual so that everyone could eat some, which worked out nicely. We did the bouquet and garter toss about an hour and a half before the end of the reception to keep things moving. Rick also sang a song to me that was amazing. Everyone there went wild when he was singing. We had our "bride and groom dance" to our song "Amazed" by Lonestar! Then the rest of the time everyone joined in the dancing and had such a good time. My cousin, Brian, who just got home from his mission, was dancing his heart out! What a scene!
The best was even after we drove off in our trashed car we were getting texts telling us that our reception was the most fun reception!
What a perfect day! Married to the perfect man, in the perfect place, and the perfect time, and starting our perfect (I am sure we will have challenges) life together.
Thank you to everyone for their help and support!
