Personality

Before much more time passes I need to update you on Levi. He is getting so big and his personality is booming!! He loves playing with daddy. Rick was getting ready for the Priesthood session the other day and this is just a glimpse of how cute they are together! Like father like son!
This is often how we find Levi in the morning. We had just turned the light on to take a picture... that is why he was squinting. He is not in pain, even though that is what it looks like. lol. He is so crazy when he sleeps. He is always rolling around and pulling on his clothes and ripping blankets apart! He started being a crazy sleeper at 5 weeks old. He is now officially a Mommy's boy. It's neat that he now knows I am his mother and anytime I leave the room or even go around the corner he senses it and stops playing with his toys and cries. It can get frustrating though because it means that I have hard getting things done. Sunday he was being super fussy and so I had to hold him while getting ready. I finally got him distracted by putting him the sink and giving him a couple mascara tubes to play with so he wouldn't grab the hot or cold water handles and soak himself. IT WORKED! He was entertained for almost a half hour. I think this is going to be our new favorite. 3 weeks ago he figured out how to pick up food and put it in his mouth and let go.... he had most of it figured out for a while, just not the letting go of the food part. Then 3 days ago he learned that he can drop things onto the floor. Before he never meant to, but now he holds toys out away from his highchair and opens his hand and then leans over and watches it drop to the floor. My friend warned me that day would happen. It gets annoying picking up after him but I am happy that he is curious and learning.
Another thing I have learned to help him stay distracted while I get the dishes done is I sit him in front of our washing machine. We have a front loading washer with a clear door. He will stare at it while the entire load gets cleaned. That is at least 20 minutes for me to get dishes done and the kitchen cleaned! I love it!
Rick made him a slide show of things like colors, nature objects, family relationships, etc. He even recorded my voice saying each word on the slides so that we could play it for Levi and help him learn. I tried playing it for him a couple months ago and he didn't care much for it, but apparently Rick pulled it up yesterday and Levi was absolutely captivated. I think we will be playing that for him more often now!
He isn't crawling yet but he sure rolls around a lot and gets himself stuck under EVERYTHING. He just screams and I come pull him out and he keeps rolling. He is ALWAYS bonking his head though. I guess there are some things you can't prevent.
I can't think of much else. Those are pretty much the highlights about what he is doing and learning right now.
I will say OVER AND OVER how wonderful being a mother is! I can't remember what I used to think was fun before I had him. Life is so wonderful and I can't imagine anything else that would make Rick and me this happy! WE LOVE YOU LEVI!
